Week of March 30th , 2009

3 /30 (Mon) - 3.5 miles outside - windy, but felt pretty good!
3/31 (Tues) - Abs 1; 3 mile run outside
4/1 (Wed) - Abs 2,3 ; Blowflex - (RHJ very achy today)
4/2 (Thu) - 4+ miles run outside
4/3 (Fri) - a rainy REST day
4/4 (Sat) - Abs 1,2 ; 3 mile run (and it was forced!)
4/5 (Sun) - 4 mile run outside; Level 1 of SHRED

I just bought 30 day shred. I thought I would incorporate this into my workouts....running isn't always best for the bod. Note to self, don't try and do SHRED after you just ran 4 miles. Also, I will celebrate the day when I can do ONE pushup- I am such a wuss, never have been able to do pushups, but I'm going to push myself to master them!

Total 17.5 miles for the week

Week of March 23rd, 2009

Well after my 3 miles on Sat. & 4 mile run Sunday, my right hip joint was screaming at me to rest- guess it was more like just yelling. So I popped some Aleve and rested on Monday.

3 /23 (Mon) - REST - much needed too
3/24 (Tues) - 2.5 miles run outside - Abs 1 - (still pain in joint..but runnable)
3/25 (Wed) - Abs 2 & 3 - Blowflex
3/26 (Thu) - 3.5 miles outside (at first a lot of RHJ pain, but after 2 miles better)
3/27 (Fri) - 2.5+ miles outside (RHJ made my knee hurt-better after a while)
3/28 (Sat) - 4.5 miles outside (dito from above) + yardwork!
3/29 (Sun) - Abs 1,2,3 - Blowflex

Total 13 miles...but I guess more importantly that Sunday, after the 4.5 miles the day before, I felt great. I was going to run at least a couple, but then again, I thought I shouldn't push it.

Week of March 9th, 2009

3/14 (Sat) - Blowflex / 2 mile run outside
3/15 (Sun) - Abs 1/2/3 - 3 mile run outside (definetly felt it in both hip joints)

3 /16 (Mon) - Blowflex (evening)
3/17 (Tues) - 3.5+ miles run outside - (felt great w/ little right hip joint pain)
3/18 (Wed) - Abs 1/2/3 - Blowflex
3/19 (Thu) - 3+ miles run-outside - (flippin joint- cold out too)
3/20 (Fri) - Blowflex
3/21 (Sat) - Abs 1/2/3 - 3 miles outside
3/22 (Sun) - 4 miles run outside

Total for week 13.5 miles.
Disappointing but I have to remember I'm still healing.

Dee-Runs Again....

I've been running, just not posting. I had to take a break since October '08 because of a hip/joint issue (read about it there). For the past month I've been incorporating more running into my workouts....but just last week I've started to run outside, instead inside on the treadmill. I still have pain in my hips at times, but nothing I can't work through or that rest doesn't help. So I'm back, hoping this log will allow me to exceed my running goals. Since I've been not running, I've incorporated BLOWFLEX (which is really bowflex) & some free weights, and a DVD workout for the abs. I hate Blowflex, but I like the results. I love the ab workout...even though the music sounds like porn music (well....so I've been told). So I'll be posting those doings here too.

So here is the scoop on me....

* Born in Dec. 1963 - I'm 45.

* Height: 5' 7"

* My current BMI 20.5

* My goal BMI 19.5 ish

* I like to work out before I go to work, so I try to get up at 5:30 am, but I usually hit the snooze once.

* I'm vegan- (see this link for detailed definition)
I eat no animals or any product that is produced by animals. That means things like no eggs, cheese, honey, milk, or gelatin. I do not use sugar that processed by using bone char. I do not use items that are tested on animals or have animal "parts" in them. No leather, fur, wool or silk. I make it a practice not to kill bugs (I make an exception for flies or mosquitoes that land on me). I have a vegan blog that has more info, but that is the jest of it.
